Bridge conducts KYC on all users on our platform. This is a regulatory requirement to ensure that our platform is not being used by bad actors. You can find more details on KYC here and our API to create customers here.
Answer
There are 3 initial paths that a user can take when their KYC is submitted.
They are automatically approved: This happens when there are no flags on the provided info and Bridge is able to onboard the user.
They are automatically rejected: This happens when there significant flags on the provided info that prevent Bridge from onboarding the user.
They are put into manual review for a member of the Bridge team to review the information provided.
If a user goes to manual review, there are 3 subsequent paths:
They are approved: the Bridge team reviewed the flags in the information provided and was able to onboard the customer
They are rejected: the Bridge team reviewed the flags in the information provided and could not onboard the customer.
They are required to provide more information: the Bridge team has reviewed the flags and needs further information to complete their review. In this case, the Bridge team will reach out via email to request this information. The information requested will depend on the flags. In cases where the user is over the age of 60 or is in a restricted country, Bridge will always request a Source of Funds questionnaire. This questionnaire includes the following questions, which can also be provided upfront to Bridge to avoid having to provide this information after KYC submission. Once Bridge receives the information requested, they will continue their review and either approve or reject the user.
